Addiction Counselling

A safe space to be
seen, heard,
and supported.

Hi, I’m Angel Kelway—a qualified councellor with a special focus on addiction recovery and mental wellbeing.

My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, respect. I believe everyone has the capacity for change, and I’m here to walk beside you as you take those steps.

My Philosophy

I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space where we can explore what’s really going on beneath the surface—without fear of judgment. I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique story and develop practical tools for healing, growth, and long-term change.

My Approach

My goal is always to meet you where you’re at—with empathy, insight, and strategies that work in the real world.

Whether you’re struggling with substance use, behavioural addiction, co-occurring mental health issues, or simply feeling lost, I’m here to help you reconnect with your strengths and reclaim your life.

A Little More About Me

Where I have got to today is because I simply was at my rock bottom and my drinking had started to effect my relationships, my job and I was on a fast very slippery slope downwards.

But, there was so much stigma around reaching out for help and I was embarrassed and didn’t want to admit that I needed help. Thankfully a family member did an intervention and said in a nutshell that I was going down hill fast and they found a counsellor who had experienced addiction.

It took a while for me to come to terms with the fact that I was a alcoholic, but once I heard the honesty of this counsellor with their journey to recovery I started to realise that maybe I could get there too.

I recognised this counsellor wasn’t just talking text book jargon, rather they were telling me what was very much do-able and then I started to want what they had. At this point I understood that addiction isn’t picky who it chooses it simply can be anyone from your GP, bank manager, lawyer to the person on the park bench with a paper bag with a bottle I definitely fitted into this gap somewhere. I understood that regardless of your social circle, class in society or who ever you were that addiction robs us all exactly the same way the stigma started to lift, and the journey to recovery began with this counsellor.  This led onto me doing the degree and wanting desperately to help others understand what they had lost and help them rebuild their lives.

Today the desire to have a drink has totally left me, however I respect it in that I have to daily remind myself that I have to make the right choices.  You can experience what I have with me by your side, if you are willing to put in the effort.
